Snow

My long ode/ rant to snow

Oh snow, so white and, well, sometimes brown. You're so cold! Anyways, have you ever truly experienced snow? I don't mean those 2 inches you wusses near the equator or in the western part of the US randomly get. I mean SNOW! The 2 feet coming down in the middle of the night preventing you from going anywhere. The kind that turns into gross squishy brown slush once cars dives over it. The kind that Uggs so dont work in and you slip , like, 15 times and fall on your ass. The kind that throws your back way out of line when you try to shovel it because your &^$^*%^% snowblower is broken (again). The kind that soaks the bottom of your jeans completely and makes people look at you funny. The reason we don't have many speed bumps becuase the plows wouldn't be able to drive properly. The kind you have to sprinkle salt on which discolors everything from your pants to your cars.  Thats the snow I'm talking about. You freaks where it's warm have probably never seen a TRUE white Christmas. Never made a snowman; I'll tell you... I am so skilled when it comes to snowmen that I can make one about 4 feet tall, get hair,  mouth, eyes, arms and a nose for it during my break at the barn and still have time to eat pizza and watch the horses run over each other as they try to jump. Now, I truly feel bad for those who have never been in a snowball fight. To try to make snowballs as fast as possible and chuck them at peoples heads while running for your lives to safety. Seriously, there is nothing like a chunk of ice flying at your head or a powdery snowball exploding down your shirt to brighten up your day. And you in warm places don't know the definition of cold either. I mean COLD. As in wearing 4 layers with a bright red nose and ears. Also, loosing the feeling in your toes. Thats what its like to be cold. And sledding! Nothing more exhilarating than flying down a hill at top speed, knowing that at any moment you can fall over or crash into someone. Then having to walk all the way back to the top. The chains where you have to hold onto someone elses sled are so awesome. Like when you loose your sled and no one else does and you are getting dragged down the hill not letting go of anyone in front or behind you. Or when the person in the back or middle ends up having the fastest sled and you are whipped around so they have to drag the rest of you down. Then there are the snow angels, igloos and all other matter of wintry fun. Oh and skiing! Whether it be cross country or down hill its so exciting! Like falling in that position some people call the pregnant woman where your skis are like \ / and you can't get up no matter how hard you try. And there is nothing like falling flat on your face or tripping over your skis. Oh, and being 20/ 30 feet above the ground with your skis weighing you down toward the ground on a swinging chair. Oh, thats safe. Now, snowshoeing... you people are missing out. Strapping your feet to flat weird shoes has always been my idea of a good time. And when you accidentally loose the shoe and step into the wet, cold snow in your bare sock. Fun, fun, fun! So, snow. The miracle of the world. People who have never seen it need to get your asses to a cold place to feel what we lucky folk are feeling right now!
