Operettas and Emergencies.
So... lets start with last Saturday shall we?
It was our final performance of Into the Woods and most of the seniors were sobbing because it was their final operetta. Then, once we got rid of all the idiots who came to see us, we ran down to the costume room to pick out the most insane outfits. The guys all looked gay and the girls were wearing the most sequenty, sluttiest little outfits ever. The we went on stage with all the lights off and had a TDP!!! For those of you unfamiliar with the term TDP let me give you the dictionary version:
TDP: (noun) An abbreviation for Techno Dance Party. Something frequently participated in by the operetta cast of my school after our final Saturday performance. As in: I went to the TDP.
So we were on stage dancing to insane techno music with our black lights and fog machine when the fire alarm went off. So out we go; in our little baby outfits barely covering enough for the hottest day in Florida into the snow ridden parking lot. To keep warm we all huddled and did some more dancing. Luckily for us the man filming our show and after party got some excellent footage of us freezing our asses off and singing our own music to dance to. When we got back in the school we changed back into our normal clothes for the rest of the party and agreed that it was, without a doubt, the best TDP ever. We also made a lot of jokes how we probably will never have a TDP again, at least, not one with a fog/smoke machine. This one guy, Peter, was kidding around saying how it would be on the Discovery History Channel and one of those boring scientist dudes would be like "The TDP became extinct in the year 2008...." lol.
Now.... the cast party was AWESOME!!!!! but, I want to skip right to the next emergency.
Today we were in Biology Lab and listening to our teacher drone on and on about Punnet Squares. The a voice came on the announcements telling us to evacuate the building immediately, following fire drill procedures. So out we go into the 23*F snow covered land. With no coats and many people in t-shirts. Some people were also in their gym clothes, shorts and a t-shirt. So we are huddling together for body warmth for around 20 minutes. Then they finally get the ok to send us across the street to the collage and get warm there. So me and my friends are all hugging and linking arms to keep ourselves warm. We ended up spending two hours sitting around in a room with about 50 chairs. There are around 700 of us. Not so good. We got some chips and pop while the police searched the entire school for bombs. It was actually a pretty fun day.
